Cool Gadget
Have you ever followed a buddy on a new trail and tried to go back only to get lost? Have you ever wondered how much you’ve climbed? How fast you’ve gone in certain sections of your ride? Here is the answer:

A handheld GPS.
I attach this little gadget to the handlebars of my bicycle and let it do its magic. I can use the unit as a guide.

Or as a cyclocomputer

The unit also saves all the data that I want plus the route that I took. I can then transfer all the data using the Mapsource software for archive or I can export the data to a tab delimited format to analyze it in Excel.

With a little excel know-how I can graph elevation profiles

Analyze segments of my ride

Another neat thing you can do is use USAphotomaps (see below to read my review) , download the data from the GPS and map the route with an aerial view of your recent trip!

For around $150 this little gadget is worth its money. Especially if you are a bike geek like me!

I got to benefit from it as I was preparing for a 10k run. My brother, Moe, took his GPS as I ran up a two-mile uphill. He tracked the elevation and distance.
Thanks again bro,
