Urban Bikers Book Review

I was surfing the other night when I came across this book titled ‘Urban Bikers Tricks & Tips’ I went to Amazon.com and ordered a used book from the used section. (You can always find books at 50%-75% off the original price).
What I liked: Lots of good information, lots of images, and a lot of topics.
The range of topics range from How to buy a bike, getting thru traffic, what to do if a motorist hits you (if you survive), loading your bikes in buses and trains, how to not get a ‘helmet head’ hair style. The images in the book made the examples very easy to understand and some were humorous.
What I didn’t care for: Some of the information is outdated and some was outright wacky.
The book I got was copyrighted on 1998, so some of the information was outdated. For example there was no mention of clipless pedals or suspension bikes. One of the suggestions for identifying your bike is to etch your Social Security on the bike. Let’s see, steal my bike and while you are at it, steal my identity too! NOT.
Rating: I give this book a B, it is definitely worth sharing with younger kids or with people that just want to get into cycling.
