Today’s Ride

February 04, 2006 By: CDale Category: Uncategorized 1 Comment →

Bonelli Park
Today’s ride was a Mountain Bike ride at Bonelli Park in San Dimas. Mike K and I rode for about 8 miles thru various terrain. The weather was a little foggy and unfortunately, I ended up endo’ing on a creek!!

Moe's Creek

We have a tradition of naming a section of the trail after our name when we eat it. This creek is now named Moe’s Creek after my dive. (Mike gave me a score of 9 by the way).

This LiveStrong training ride was sponsored by The Salas Family. Thanks for generosity.

Florence Blvd

Yesterday was my first day of ‘training’ for the LiveStrong ride. I use my commute to train for any major ride that I do. Yesterday’s ride was awesome, the temperature was on the 60’s, weather was clear and I was able to make it home with a little light left. This 18 mile ride was sponsored by my first donors; John LaPierre from www.bigfatgeek.net and by my cousin Mando, thank you guys for supporting my cause.

LiveStrong Ride

LiveStrong

Yeah I wear one, my whole family does, and it’s those yellow LiveStrong bands. These little wristbands sparked a huge demand and a lot of clones. What was sad to see is that a lot of people wore them as a fad. I still wear mine, the reason I do its because I’ve lost 2 relatives to cancer and my brother-in-law is battling cancer as I write this.

I’ve known Bobby Granger for about 10 years; he is married to my wife’s sister, Sharon. They are residents of Carlsbad, New Mexico. They have welcomed me with open arms to their family; in fact, I had the privilege of baptizing their son.

Bobby Granger is one of the hardest working people I’ve met in my life; he has his own construction company where he does a lot of the work himself. 3 years ago Bobby was diagnosed with Colon cancer; he was given about 6 months to live. His will to live, his will to fight and his faith has kept him alive. He kept saying to me, ‘I’m going to beat this Cancer, you’ll see’. He epitomizes what ‘LiveStrong’ means.

It is because of him that I’ve decided to ride the Southern California LiveStrong ride. I’ve chosen to ride the 100 miler on June 25th. However, I need your help. I need to raise a minimum of $500, but what I would really like to raise is $2,500.
